Since i thought it would be boring to come to chianti just to see vineyards i decided to add olive trees to those which survived the winter of 1985. The roots of this plant which is a symbol of the mediterranean area hold ancient terraces that peasants built about three centuries ago. Olive oil made the story of my family so hurrah the family and we’ll toast with someone else’s wine! The rest of the land I left the way it was. There are beautiful pastures, oaks, junipers, cypress and pine trees everywhere. Woods are inhabited by deers, bores, badgers, foxes, squirrels, snakes, pheasants. Every year hoopoes and swallows come back to find their nests. There are fast hares and rabbits that maybe, I say maybe, you’ll be lucky enough to meet. There is an awkward, sweet black cat and once upon a time there was a pink sheep…
To the future I want to leave 12 hectares of clean land. I don’t use pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, fertilizers. A genuine, certainly very old fashioned way to deal with agriculture. I am not interested in pushing the production. To the logic of profit I oppose the logic of sustaintability: biomass furnace, solar panel, rain collectors, phytodepuration, recycling. Because waste is the real sin of our society. This is the way I think to the future and I don’t want to make my hands dirty with legalized poisons… Like Jodorowsky and Lihn I want to borrow from futurism Marinetti’s statement “potry is action”. This is the way I want to leave my life. Poetry is still alive.
To testify the beauty of the house and of the place I leave you photos. We lodge from 1 to 6 persons. Choose the living spaces you like better. There are plants and flowers all around the house that keep it in constant change. For those who like to hike, to bike, to stroll in the countryside, to drink and eat and relax this is definetely the right place. Siena, Florence, Monteriggioni, Lucca, Pisa, Volterra, San Gimignano, Certaldo are all aroud. Thousands of small villages out of touristic routes because in Tuscany the best thing you can do is to get lost.
